standing wool rug with appliqué and embroidery
I did a series of these ... the skull, fish,flower and leaf
are raised up with padding to keep it level with the rest of the rug
The nice thing about this technique is that they are reversible
The neat thing is you can vary your shapes
this is a combination rug with boil wool and appliqué
with a rag rug edge
